I just found a tv in the dumpster. Slightly broke. Help me fix?

It’s a 28 inch sanyo flat panel. When i turn it on (w/ buttons on tv or remote), it powers up like I would imagine it’s supposed to, but then the screen turns all white. The backlight seems to be all the way up, and it’s unresponsive to anything else except another pressing of the power button.

Is this fixable?

I have been pondering a way to have another tv and this seems like a gift from heaven. I would be willing to spend some money if It needs new parts or professional service.

I am fairly tech saavy, but I know nothing of tv’s (but I can sure as hell follow instructions)
Just was able to get sound upon plugging up cable. Still not picture.
model is DP26648

LCD is blown. No signal or no response. Chuck it back in the dumpster or buy a new LCD screen for it. Could be a billion other things leading to the LCD, but your troubleshooting skills are minimal and I don’t have the patience. I’m not going to tell you how to apply potential difference across contact points to get RGB. There are websites that do that already if you are interested. Sorry, man.

Hey, look at it this way, at least the tube array is working. That’s what usually goes bad or burns out, not the LCD.

On a side note, you can buy that thing new for 200 bucks. Getting a new screen for that would cost at least 125 bucks plus your time to install. Get into the business or give it up.
